About our clinic
What do exercise physiologists do?
We are university qualified exercise specialists who understand the physiological implications of exercise on the body. We stay up to date with the latest research when it comes to exercise.
What do you do at your clinic?
We provide a personal training experience with accredited exercise physiologists who specialise in strength training for women. We help protect and strengthen the pelvic floor when lifting weights. We stay up to date with the best approach to exercise for women who are navigating pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, metabolic and health conditions.
Your sessions
How often do I attend?
According to national guidelines, women are recommended to lift weights at least 2 days per week. For beginners, 2 days per week is ideal before tapering down to 1 day per week or fortnight as you become more confident lifting on your own.
To ensure you are getting the adequate dose, we provide you with a home or gym-based program alongside your face to face sessions.
Who should attend the clinic?
Women who need support exercising through an injury, who want to start strength training or who would like specialised guidance through a medical condition.
We however, love meeting and working with every woman and believe there is so much to learn through each woman’s experience.
What do I wear to my session?
We recommend wearing whatever clothing you feel most comfortable moving in!
Please remove your shoes when you enter the clinic but please keep your socks on. Pilates socks are recommended. Please bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated.
What if I miss my session? What’s your cancellation policy?
Your session time has been reserved for you. If you know you cannot make your session ahead of time, please cancel or reschedule 24 hours before to avoid being charged. Get in touch.
Pricing & insurance
Do you offer classes?
We provide 1 on 1 private sessions so that you can safely lift weights. Semi-private sessions will be coming soon!
Does my private health insurance cover some of the price?
Most private health insurers will have the option to include exercise physiology in your cover! We recommend double checking with them to find out if you do and how much.
My GP has given me a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) care plan, how does this work?
Medicare will cover $61.80 of your session on the Chronic Disease Management Plan. This plan entitles you to up to 5 sessions with an allied health professional allocated by your GP.
Please bring this with you or your GP can email it directly to us at info@strengthbywomen.com
